Network Solutions
We
specialize in the total design, implementation, training, and support of Windows NT, Novell NetWare, Windows
95/98, and Unix related Networks!
CCR Consultants has the knowledge and expertise to meet the
challenges of small and medium size businesses, as well as corporate enterprises.
Our Network Services include:
Network Analysis
Whether your business is currently wired or not, an analysis of present
and future computing needs must be addressed before we will accept you as our client.
This includes identifying all hardware currently used, network topology
implemented, network protocols in use, cabling media, Network Operating Systems used, and
client software being used for work productivity.
Defining the fundamental system(s) that will be required to optimize your
current business functions.
Our purpose is to analyze all aspects of the network, and establish the
linkage to the company's business mission [and purpose] with technology objectives.
The typical analysis includes identifying all hardware currently used,
network topology implemented, network protocols in use, cabling assessment, Network
Operating Systems used, client software being used for work productivity, examination of:
current systems, network applications and security [protective type] software used.
A business evaluation is performed then the required system configuration
is analyzed. All applications current and proposed are inspected. A business process is
designed and a draft analysis is presented for approval.
CCR Consultants will then make recommendations in a professional
presentation on integrating legacy systems with new technology; local and remote
connectivity considerations; server, hub and workstation advice; client configurations,
wide area requirements, etc.
Network Design Configuration
and Proposal
CCR Consultants will design an economical network solution [with a
strong ROI] for any size business.
The key measurement of an effective network is employee productivity. This
means high "up-times" for network servers, stable employee workstations, and
reliable network resources; e.g. department printers.
To accomplish this objective, high quality hardware must be used. We
aren't wed to any particular hardware or software vendor. Every business has specific
needs and "one-size fits all" is usually a recipe for disaster.
It is with that in mind that CCR Consultants custom builds all
"Network Servers", and high-end [Design Graphics and engineering type]
workstations. Normal, everyday desktop workstations will be built by an independent
computer vendor.
The network protocols are defined along with the NOS to be used. The
network resources to be utilized will be documented and mapped [placed] to the workplace.
We subcontract our cabling installation needs to contractors that are
members of the Building Industry Consulting Service International, Inc. (BICSI) The
topology, i.e., star, bus, ring, mesh, etc., is selected in combination with the cable
media used.
CCR Consultants provides a working diagram of the proposed network
configuration in conjunction with the project implementation plan.
Physical security of protected resources will be addressed on a case by
case basis. Network security will conform to the goals and security objectives of each
individual business. Obviously, a company who has no plans on providing access to the
internet doesn't need to worry about [software] firewalls.
Network management, system administration, network backups, as well as
support, including help desks, will be based on each companies needs.
Lastly, the entire proposed solution is fully documented.

Network Management
Network Maintenance IS NOT network management. It is really quite different.
Maintaining a network is generally a reactive task that requires a manager to work with
the daily difficulties or obstacles [relating] to the operating system [NOS], the client
or server hardware, or all of the above.
Network Management is the responsibility to improve the overall network. Managing
users, [adding, subtracting, assigning resource access, etc..] installing software
upgrades, network system patches, and service packs, etc., can be both maintenance and
management assignments. However, planning for future expansion, the
latest technology, and managing the computing environment come under the management
umbrella.
CCR Consultants provides network administration that includes all the conditions
necessary to manage the network. CCR Consultants will maintain adequate resources to track
and monitor network traffic, performance and manage network storage.
Technical
Consultation
Technical consultation is a general service which covers everything from projected Web
Site Revenue expectations to implementing voice recognition software used to replace
transcription personnel in medical businesses. CCR Consultants can provide
Return On Investment (ROI) development, risk analysis, competitive analysis and specific
industry trends.
Network Maintenance
Intel believes, and history has shown, that computer related
technology has [approximately] an 18 month life cycle.
That said, maintaining high-tech, advanced networks is
critical. Many "techies" believe that to remain competitive, networks must
be managed to include state-of-the-art hardware, software and technology.
CCR Consultants believes that proper planning, as it relates to business
growth, and through the use of a "sibling workstation plan", companies can
increase their ROI significantly, while maintaining the competitiveness that
actually increases employee productivity.
CCR Consultants will maintain your network so you won't have to. Many
companies will assign the office manager as their network administrator. Without
proper training, and the knowledge to recover from a network disaster, the lost
productivity in one day [depending on the size of the company] could cost much more than
maintaining a private consulting firm.
Maintaining a network is a complete job within itself. Installing network
hardware; e.g. network adapters, network hubs.switches, display terminals, and patch
cables, along with dealing with users who are complaining about software that worked
yesterday and now it doesn't, can tax anyone, not to mention people who have other job
responsibilities.
Troubleshooting network protocols, shared resources, etc. all relate to
network maintenance. The skills necessary to provide adequate network maintenance
are usually learned over time.
CCR Consultants has the experience and the skills required to reduce
the time to provide these services. It's a good business decision to have us maintain your
network for you.
Keeping networks up and running is why CCR Consultants is the best choice
for you. We will manage the daily operations of your [whether they're simple or
complex] computing environments which will allow your management team to concentrate on
remaining productive.

Network Security
How secure is your network?
What are the physical risks your business is susceptible to? [like
flooding and water damage]
Does your cabling specifications meet with the municipal code standards?
Is your business equipped with PVC tubing and Halon fire extinguishers?
How about unconditioned power? Are power generators on-line?
What precautions have been taken to thwart hackers and just general
Internet intruders?
Is the network virus protected? Are employee profiles, [as in
disgruntled employees] with possible malicious intent kept?
These types of issues need to be addressed to provide a safe and secure
network environment. CCR Consultants will present to you real case histories [and
solutions] that have disrupted [lost productivity, lawsuits, etc..] companies and
cost many [unnecessary] dollars because they were unprepared.
CCR Consultants will provide a thorough evaluation of your environment as
it pertains to your network security and equip you with the roadmap necessary to take
you where you want to be through the combinations of standard safety
practices, OSHA, and BICSI, etc.
Network Support
We offer support at your workplace [0n-site] Where travel is
required, the travel expenses are paid for by our clients [and not included in our
compensation agreement].
On-site support is charged by the hour or day with a minimum charge. You
can buy an annual support contract which gets you pre-determined number of hours, a
reduced rate for more hours, smaller minimum charge per on-site visit and some telephone
and email support.
Network Cabling
We subcontract cabling installation. Our cabling contractors are members
of the Building Industry Consulting Service International, Inc. (BICSI).
Encompasses most aspects of network cabling required on a customer's
premises. This process includes the site survey, the cable plant design, pre-installation
testing, cable run (closet to desktop), cable termination - node/hub, and post
installation testing.
Cable connectivity includes Category 3, Category 5, Token Ring, Ethernet,
AT&T, IBM, DEC, 10BaseT, 100BaseT, FDDI, structured wiring systems, including
Fiber optic backbones and fiber to the workstation.
Remote Backup & LAN
Administration
Sophisticated business continuation requirements include maintaining a
current system backup as part of their mandatory recovery assessments. It is also
recommended to keep a full backup off site.
CCR Consultants can keep your backup for you. If you have a dedicated
backup server, CCR Consultants will keep it off premises for you. If you don't we'll
partition dedicated space on one of our servers, like an ISP that offers co-location, and
lock it down through various encryption programs. [at your request] Your data will be
totally secure.
Once setup, we can have your backup server (on CCR Consultants premises)
dial into your primary server and backup your data.
Using different bandwidth plans; i.e. like a high-speed Integrated Digital
Services Network (ISDN) lines which transfers data up to 128 Kilobits per second.
Higher bandwidths require a high-speed dedicated link like T-1 at 1.544
Megabits per second. Using this type of access, CCR Consultants can also remotely
administer your network. [manage users, network resources, administer servers, audit
security policies, etc.]
Equipment Leasing
If you cannot afford to make capital purchases, lease. It's just that
simple. CCR Consultants has access to competitive lease rates for any hardware or software
requirement your company might have. Most contracts can range from 12 to 36 months.
Normally, a leasing company will require a minimum of two months installment
is that's it!
Disaster Planning
This combines two of the CCR Consultants services; Network
Security; Remote Backup/LAN Administration.
CCR Consultants will perform a plant and equipment inventory, a business
impact analysis, and a budget analysis.
We then develop the strategy and plan in the event that disaster does
indeed strike. Last, we will train your support staff and create a test using
"non-production equipment." If the recovery is successful, then the management
can sleep at night and we have done our job!

Qualifications/Expertise
CCR Consultants, a computer systems and network integrator,
specializes in Local Area Network (LAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) computer platforms.
Our advantage over most other computer consultants include our
standardization on the leading network operating system Windows NT.
We employ [and contract when needed] Windows NT MSCE's, [Microsoft
Certified System Engineer] Novell trained CNE's [Certified Novell Engineers] each
qualifying to meet the current Microsoft and Novell certification process.
CCR Consultants is a small organization but we can handle large problems
because we have strategic alliances with individuals and companies which allow us to put
together highly-qualified combinations of people for the projects we undertake.
Because CCR Consultants standardizes on Windows NT we are able to eliminate wasted time
with trial and error decisions.
CCR Consultants also provides objectivity. We are not biased so we can
assimilate issues quickly, and act expeditiously on solutions.
Experience is a great teacher, and our analytical skills has been honed as
a result. This allows us to troubleshoot effectively, predict and separate real problems
from perceived ones, and then take action which enables us to accurately predict the
outcome.
CCR Consultants has the time most network administrators or mangers don't
have which enables us to sidestep numerous
interruptions faced by a manager each day. We can then maximize our skills to benefit our
clients.
Employment
CCR Consultants employs qualified consultants on a contract basis.
We have many alliances, yet we're always looking for new and qualified individuals to
further our ability to provide high-quality consulting to our clients.
For more information Email Pat
Maintenance Contracts
CCR Consultants will enter into customized agreements designed to assure
our clients of "Guaranteed Response Times!" This may be a 24, 36,
and/or 48 hour window [from the time the service call was initiated] in which we
guarantee to be on-site, working to solve whatever problems our clients were having.
We can contract for specialized support, including network administration,
network or system upgrades, and whatever else our clients may require.
Telephone and Email
support
As anyone who has ever called a software company's support line knows, the
moment the words "network" are uttered, phone support charges are
assessed. [and at a substantially higher cost than a single-personal user would pay]
Our support packages are based on whether we were responsible for the
network design/installation, or just the general overall upkeep etc..
We also provide end-user "software" related support in
various packages.
Additional costs would be long-distance telephone calls or specialized
[premium support] using our accounts from software companies. Of course, these charges
require prior approval before we spend this money.
Email support will be the cheapest form of support we offer.
Online Training/Support
CCR Consultants can provide on-line training and/or support to a companies employees. Many
times a company will either expand a department's responsibility, resulting in new skill
requirements for existing employees, hire new employees, or just replacing employees
with new ones, they will still need to train these people with whatever computer skills
are required..
We can provide on-line training and/or support for these changes
electronically, either over the telephone or over the Internet, using tools like
pcANYWHERE.
This service is charged by time, but at cheaper rates than for on-site
training/support.
